It Is No Secret

Oh how I give thanks to God and to the previous generations who pass down to the generations after them their testimony of how great God has been to them and also pass down hymns and songs that reminded them of God’s everlasting love, grace and kindness.

This song I share with you today is a song that has been referred to multiple times in posts on Hope&Enlightenment. I wasn’t all that curious about the song, even though I did like the one line referred to,” It is no secret what God can do, what He did for others He’ll do for you…” But now that I’ve heard the song in its entirety I must share it with others, for it is so true! It’s such a great reminder (along with God’s Word) that He is forgiving (1 John 1:9), He shows no partiality to man (Romans 2:11), in His light there is no darkness (1 John 1:5), no power can overtake us when He is with us (Isaiah 54:17; 1 John 4:4), and He keeps His promises (1 Corinthians 1:9; Deuteronomy 7:9). 😀

Oh and by the way this is an old song, so if you’re not into old music then you may find a version that is more recent and has been covered by someone else. Personally, I prefer the old school version sung by Jim Reeves, if you like old school tunes too them listen below 😉

Here are the lyrics:

The chimes of time ring out the news another day is through

Someone slipped and fell, was that someone new

You may have longed for added strength, your courage to renew

Do not be disheartened, I have news for you

It is no secret what God can do

What He’s done for others, He will do for you

With arms wide open He’ll pardon you

It is no secret what God can do

There is no night for in His light you’ll never walk alone

You’ll always feel at home, wherever you may roam

There is no pow’r can conquer you while God is on your side

Take Him at His promise don’t run away and hide

It is no secret what God can do

What He’s done for others He’ll do for you

With arms wide open, He’ll pardon you

It is no secret what God can do

I pray you are blessed by this song and that the words will reveal to you God’s goodness and grace. Turn not away from Him, but hold on tight to His love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
