Music: Cut It Off

Now a days there are so many things that can pull us away from God and distract us from seeking Him. But it’s up to each person to choose how they live and what they do. Matthew 5:27-30 “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Don’t literally pluck your eye out, but for both men and women if you tend to look at the opposite sex and your eyes linger on that person(s), then look elsewhere before your mind produces thoughts and fantasies that can later lead you to fulfill that imagination, which will lead to sin and sin leads to death. A person may not die physically instantly, but sin leads to death of relationship with God (spiritually, His promises and blessings). However, the warning Jesus gives isn’t only about lust – it’s about all those things that leads us to sin and commit acts against God.

The song below is basically saying to cut off those things that hinder our growth in God and keep us from pleasing Him; those things that grab for our attention sometimes making it difficult for us to pray, read His word, or fellowship with out brothers and sisters in Christ. The genre is Jamaican Gospel Reggae

Mark 9:43-48 Jesus said, “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into fire that shall never be quenched – where, ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ And if your foot causes you to sin cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched – where, ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire – where, ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.'” Those things that cause you to sin – it is imperative that you CUT IT OFF so that the sin won’t hold you back from having eternal life. Sin leads to death, that death isn’t always physically, it’s spiritually too.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
