“The Love of the Father…sets us free…We are set free from society’s time lines of where we should be, when we should be there, what we should have, how we should look, and how we should feel. God’s love sets us free to receive His will in His timing.”
In the world but not of the world… Yet if we lose focus of Jesus and the Fathers love for us we can get caught up in the norms of society and neighborhood we live in. These norms have a way of affecting our lifestyle by influencing our choices and decisions if we are not fully focused on honoring God and living a life that is pleasing to Him(which one does out of their love for Him).
I’ve gotten caught up in society’s time lines and the various how I should _______or where I should ______. I admit it is stressing, but once I let go of other peoples opinions and desires for my life there is a lot less stress during my day.
I’d like to be free to be me. Everyone has their own preferences, but I don’t have to meet them in my personal life. Perhaps I do have to meet them at work, or school, sometimes sacrificially with family. And of course there is always room for improvement in our character, and sometimes in the way we get things done, and how we treat others.
Keep the good parts, improve the things that are not part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5).
Matthew 5:13-15. Aren’t Christians/believers and followers of Christ supposed to stand out because we don’t live life according to the system of society, but according to the standards of our Abba, our Father, our God? Perhaps not in a way that displays getting everything we want or living a problem free life, but always in the way that shows that God’s love is within us (showing mercy, compassion, patience and even sacrificing). Live by the Spirit! The Holy Spirit. Remember after confessing Jesus is Lord and believing that God raised Jesus from the dead, we are His children; welcomed and adopted into His family! 🙂 Cleansed from our past, free from sin and fear, given a glorious hope in Christ, given an eternal inheritance, and given wonderful promises. If you doubt, search the scriptures for yourself and know tthe truth! Jesus said knowing the truth will set you free…
