Past Prayer 8

This entry is part of the “Past Prayer Series” .

January 6, 2011

Father God, I want to thank You again for waking me up this morning, giving me new mercies, and protecting my family & me through out the night. I repent for the sins I have committed against You in thought, word, and deed, I repent of my sins of omission and commission and of my sins seen and unseen. I ask for Your forgiveness and I thank You for Your forgiveness. If we confess our sins You are faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Father, I ask that You help me to allow You to do Your will in my life. I ask that You may lead me in such a way that removes my selfish ways.

According to Your will God, use me that more people may see and hear about  Your love, grace, and mercy.

I know You have not given me a spirit of fear and that You instilled something great in me, because You are in me and You are great. All of Your creation is great. Teach me and help me to be confident in You, the Holy Spirit & myself > according to what You have given me.

Help me to have a loving and kind heart, but still be able to stand firm on your word that I may not tilt or stumble from the words or actions of others.

Thank You for Your word God, thank You for spiritual wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

I ask that You may teach me, show me, help me to be patient and humble.

God I ask that You will do Your will in my life and protect my family and me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Hey! I recommend writing down your own prayers if you happen to notice that random thoughts start to pop in your mind when you are praying. Writing them down can sometimes allow you to focus on your prayer to God. Plus, it will help stop the random thoughts from popping into your conversation with God. This is why I’m able to share my prayers, because I wrote them down.

Backsliding, Have You Heard of This Term?

For those of you who don’t know what backsliding as a Christian, it is “… those who have been near to God but have allowed sin to take them away from Him” taken from ( I suggest you read the whole article, it is not long) .

Here are some steps to avoid backsliding when you feel like you are heading in that direction…..

  • Examine your faith-life regularly.Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
    2 Corinthians 13:5  (NIV)
  • If you find yourself drifting away, turn back immediately.See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
    Hebrews 3:12-13 (NIV)
  • Come to God daily for forgiveness and cleansing. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
      1 John 1:9 (NIV)

Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
    Revelation 22:14 (NIV)

  • Continue daily seeking the Lord with your whole heart. And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
    I Chronicles 28:9 (NIV)

This is only 4 of the 10 steps or tips to avoid backsliding. Here is the link to read the rest of the steps/tips( I feel that you can also use these steps if you are already in the backslidden state along with additional Biblical godly advice from a Minister, Bishop, Pastor, etc.

I needed this info, found it, and thought about my other Christian brothers and sister who might need this info also if these answers are needed. Especially if you are like me where you felt like you were backsliding or have backslidden more than once throughout a period of time. I hope this helps in your Journey with God.

You Think It’s Hard…

If you think just because you pray everyday, pick up your Bible to read a single verse, or your parents go to church all while you are living in sin (impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, idolatry, participation in demonic … Continue reading
