Ps 1:1
Blessed is the man that walks NOT in the counsel of the ungodly…
+++The counsel of the ungodly comes from the devil and the world. It is always earthly, corrupted, sensual and demonic.
+++This counsel is also called the wisdom of the world. It is enticing and promising, but only to trap you, corrupt you and destroy you.
James 3:17
God’s wisdom and counsel is pure, holy, righteous, peaceful, gentle, easy to be implored, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and hypocrisy, and it is always liberating.
Prov 21:31 & 24:26
In the wisdom and counsel of God there is safety and your safety is of the Lord.
+++ Blessed you are and blessed you will always be.

The best teacher is not the counsel of other people especially not ungodly people. The best teacher is the unity of the Holy Spirit and God’s Word – the Bible. God guides, teaches, directs and instructs through His Holy Spirit and His word.

By reading the Bible, praying, and fellowshiping with other brothers and sisters in Christ we spend time with God and mature in our relationship with God and in our faith.

Psalm 1 reminds me that there is no benefit or purpose in the righteous fellowshiping or hanging out with the unrighteous. As God’s righteous people who are “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people…” (1 Peter 2:9) we can’t and we don’t need to routinely/ continuously be with those who are wicked, reject God and His Son Jesus, who purposefully blaspheme against God because of their irreverence and lack of respect for Him, who know the truth and chose to continue in sin and unrighteousness (Read Romans chapter 1). However, for the purpose of one being saved by the grace of God one should minister the word of God to them in truth and in love by will of God and the leading of His Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communication corrupt good manners.

The company you keep most often sometimes determines the advice you accept and the decisions you make. As a Christian or new believer in Christ be mindful of the people giving you advice and the people who you spend time with.

Psalm 1:1 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”
