1 John 4:8 …God is Love.
+++God never fails. Love is of God and Love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8)
+++Too often we fail to love.
+++How to know when you are loved by others:
1. The love you get is unconditional.
2. You are valued and treasured.
3. Concerns and cares are shown for you.
4. Many good things are given unto you.
5. You will be respected.
6. Others will speak well to you and speak well of you.
7. You give/receive affection.
8. Love defends and protects.
9. Others will be committed, faithful and loyal to you.
10. Love produces trust.
+++The same rules apply to you when you love others.
+++Love is not a strong feeling or attraction for someone. You can have such a feeling out of lust for someone and not out of love for them.
Eph 5:2 Walk in love…
+++Blessed you are and blessed you will always be.

His Love

“The number one factor that determines whether or not you will like another person is whether or not they like us. If they like you, you will like them. If they don’t like you, you will not like them.”
-Quote from The Me I Want to Be by John Ortberg Chapter 18

And honestly if we think or feel that someone doesn’t like us, then our initial response goes something like this, “Well, I don’t like them either!”

God is not like this.

“God loves people who love Him. He loves people who don’t love Him. He doesn’t do it because He has to. He doesn’t say to Himself, Well, I am God, so I guess I’m stuck with having to love people…God does it because love is the only way to life.” – also quoted from chapter 18

God’s Word says that He (God) is love.
The fullness of love is part of God’s character.

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life.(John 3:16)

So the difference between God’s love and the world’s love (or human love without God) is that God’s love is not dependant on whether we love Him. He loves regardless.

Knowing God

God is the God of all peace, hope & love.

He is the God of all comfort and all grace.

He is the father of all mercies.

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

“Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.” 2 Corinthians 13:11

“The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:9

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 1 Corinthians 1:3, 4

God said it! “I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid of a man that will die, and of the son of man who will be made like grass?” Isaiah 51:12

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16

“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Hebrews 13:20, 21

“But may the God of all grace, who called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you.” 1 Peter 5:10

“Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in Him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:15, 16

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts (the hearts of man), except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

“For the Lord will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; Joy and gladness will be found in it, Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.” Isaiah 51:3

Knowing God doesn’t stop here. Develop a relationship with Him, and get to know Him for yourself.

Read the Bible, pray, go to a church or join a group of believers who believe the Bible and profess Jesus.
