Contrary to what most have heard carbohydrates are actually okay and certainly necessary for us humans to eat. According to this article shared today, our main source of energy comes from carbohydrates! Carbohydrates or Carbs are composed of sugar, starches, and fiber. Next we have proteins. Proteins can come from an animal or plant source. We can have protein by eating chicken, meats, and seafood. Meats are an animal source. Plant based sources are foods like nut butters; which include almond, cashew and peanut butter. Lastly on nutrition 101 are fats. Fats had a horrible connotation thanks to society and how the food industry has made foods with the label no fat or low fat. I’ve learned that sugar can also turn into fat in the body.
