Longsuffering

Longsuffering.

I learned what that word meant some years ago as I did a painting on the verse Galatians 5:22-23.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 NKJV
Today I thought about my relationship with one I consider my past “significant other,” but truthfully my past(?) love. I was thinking I went through longsuffering with him.

Longsuffering basically means being patient. However it is an extensive kind of patience. Imagine a husband or wife with a spouse, a child or a relative with cancer or some other type of deadly or serious illness. That wife, husband, parent or whoever would have no choice but to suffer long as their loved one goes through life with this temporary or possibly permanent illness. At some point, as true Christians we will go through some type of longsuffering.

Now don’t get me wrong. Longsuffering is not a bad thing. Why? Because God’s word says,

“…we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
Romans 5:3‭-‬4 NKJV

In patience, there is an element to persevere. You gotta stick with it, stick through it. Not many of us have a choice as to whether we will stick it through or skip over it. What is a shame is that if you skip that situation, you just may face it again until you learn what you should have learned the first time that situation occurred. So, please don’t skip over the hard stuff in this life that we face. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather go through a hard time once and learn my lesson, than go through it three, four or five times.

I started this post thinking about what I’m going through. I’m happy I didn’t vent about my situation. My venting shall go elsewhere. This blog isn’t just about me and my life, but it is to share the word of God, the gospel, and everything else in the same line or topic. I want to share how I feel, but what’s the point.

Still love God,

In the end,

He knows

What is best.

Love One Another

Little children, I am with you [only] a little longer. You will look for Me and, as I told the Jews, so I tell you now, ‘Where I am going, you are not able to come.’   I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another.”

JOHN 13:33‭-‬35 AMP

You Are Never Without God’s Blessings, Favors and Love

“Ephesians 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual BLESSINGS in heavenly places in Christ:
Luke 1:30
And the angel said:
…for you have found FAVOR with God.
Rom 5:8
But God commends his LOVE toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
+++Please be reminded that in Christ Jesus you are greatly BLESSED, highly FAVORED and deeply LOVED.
+++Whatever it is that is bugging you. Take it to God in prayer and rest assured that God has it handled, taken care of, fixed, and resolved.
+++Put yourself in God’s care and leave yourself there. He is your Protector and Provider, your Lead and your Guide, your God and your loving Heavenly Father.
+++Blessed you are and blessed you will always be and to God be all the glory. Amen!”

If you keep pointing out flaws, if you keep on highlighting a persons shortcomings, if you continue to make a list of all that a person has done wrong, without forgiving them, you’ll notice that you won’t be able to love that person. It will be difficult to love them as long as you point out their every sin (not because you want to correct them in love and truth, but because you don’t like what they’ve done or because they’ve caused you pain). Check yourself. Do you have peace when you do this? Are you at peace with the person? Are you bitter towards them? Can you stand them or does the sight of them cause you to suddenly look like and become the Grinch?

How can the Christian life be lived without love?

Love.
Love in action.
You tell me you love me and I say
Show me.

Forgive.
Show grace.
Show mercy.
Give patience.
Be patient.

Be honest* something I’m working on.

BTW, I can say this because I was sure bitter, discontent, not inspired to forgive or love because I kept adding a persons faults to all the other shortcomings that this person made. When you tell the Lord everything, do what He says and forgive and love it can work out. I had to trust Him to handle my grievances, even though sometimes I tried to handle the issue on my own.

There’s a scripture…it says God acts on those who wait for Him. I’ll have to look it up and share it here ASAP.

Love Is Powerful: Part 3

-Continue to be determined to live the rest of your life in the Powerful Love of God because God is Love and Love never fails.
-Blessed you are and blessed you will always be and to God be all the glory. Amen!
