“For whoever finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord;” – Proverbs 8:35 NKJV
Here in proverbs, wisdom is talking. So if we find wisdom we also find life and receive favor from the Lord. Favor from the Lord is the best favor there is because I believe you can have favor with the Lord, which can result in favor with God as well. Think about the story of Joseph in the bible! After being taken to Egypt as a slave, He had God’s favor and wisdom! Plus he had the favor of those he interacted with everywhere he went. If you don’t remember the story, please go ahead and read it. Read it also in a version that you know you will be able to understand, or switch to a different version like the amplified if you’d like some points explained more. Don’t stick to the version you are used to if you have been a Christian for many years.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” – James 1:5 NKJV
I love that if we are lacking wisdom, all we have to do is be humble, go to God and ask for His wisdom. His word gives us assurance that He will give us wisdom, because as the verse above says, He gives liberally and without reproach (freely, no restraint).
Let’s look at the Amplified Bible,
If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind. 7 For such a person ought not to think or expect that he will receive anything [at all] from the Lord, 8 being a double-minded man, unstable and restless in all his ways [in everything he thinks, feels, or decides]. James 1:5-7
The amplified version gives more explanation for some verses, I tried to expound a bit more on James 1:5 I’m not sure if it helped, but I hope the amplified version helps you all out.
“•When you are angry your peace can be interrupted. Release the anger and keep your peace.
•Peace is the fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22-23. This means your peace is of God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
•Peacemakers are blessed children of God.
•Peacemakers are not angry people. Neither do they get angry easily and if they get angry they do not get violently out of control and sin.
•When anger comes your way remember Your Heavenly Father is your Jehovah Shalom and Jesus is your Prince of Peace.
+++Blessed you are and blessed you will always be and to God be all the glory. Amen!”
“Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.” 1 Corinthians 4:5

…I needed to read some scriptures before I started worrying about an acceptance package/letter for a paid internship program.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
…in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
There is a reason why we are to hide God’s word in our hearts. 🙂 Scripture helps..
