…it’s about faith.
Waiting on the Lord gives us time to prepare for what is to come and it also shows or proves how much faith we really have. If we are waiting for something like breakthrough, salvation for someone we care about, healing or anything else according to God’s will and His word, we must not give up. If we give up waiting and move on to something else this shows that we need more faith. More faith to wait and to believe that soon what we are waiting for will be manifested. We cannot rush God, He works in His own time, He is all-knowing, He sees everything, His word says that He loves us*. His word says all things work together for good to them that love God to those who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). There comes a time in the waiting season where it’s not only about patience but about faith. To keep on believing, trusting and yes, to keep on waiting.
*John 3:16, Jeremiah 31:3, Romans 8:38-39, Psalm 107:8, John 15:13.
Waiting isn’t always a matter of patience, it is more a matter of faith.
Simeon waited to see Christ(Luke 2:22-38). Abraham waited for God to manifest His promises in his(Abrahams life) even though through it Sarah or Abraham himself may have doubted for a short time. I guarantee there are many others in the Bible who waited on God.
Let us hold tightly to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise. Hebrews 10:23
Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you;
And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you.
For the LORD is a God of justice;
Blessed are all those who wait for Him.
—————————————-Isaiah 30:18 (New King James Version)
Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you;
therefore he will rise up to show you compassion.
For the LORD is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for him!
—————————————-Isaiah 30:18 (New International Version)
Earlier caught myself thinking I’ll wait on someone, but ultimately I want to wait on the Lord. I’m not taking about waiting for someone to come out of the mall or waiting for the fast food delivery, but about waiting for the Lord with trust in life’s circumstances, in the hills and the low streams, the rocky mountains and the flowery fields, in it all I shall wait on the Lord, with expectancy.
Sometimes waiting is more about faith, than it is about patience.
Who are you waiting for? What are you waiting for? and Are you waiting with patience and faith?
