Romans 12:14-21

What sets us apart as Christians is not only our belief in God but also doing what He has told us to do (following His commands and laws). Romans 12:14-21 talks about not having hate against our enemies and staying in a position where we continue to love those who hurt us.

No matter how bad the hurt is, we are to Verse 14 – Bless those who persecute us and don’t curse them. Verse 17 – Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Verse 18 – Keep peace with everyone if it depends on you. As you read further we are to provide, if asked, for our enemies if they are in need of something you have(Verse 20). Lastly we have to overcome evil with good. Not evil with evil.

I’m still working on doing as Romans 12:14 – 21 says. Honestly it is difficult to bless those that pursposefully curse you (I know from experience). But the good thing is if you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior then you can ask God to give you whatever you need to bless those who curse you and to repay only good with evil.

To allow Jesus to come into your heart follow these steps: (taken from You Think It’s Hard… )

1) Admit you are a sinner. Understand that no one is righteous, not even one. We have all fallen short of the glory of God, the only one that was and is perfect is the one who died for us.(Romans 3:10)

2)Be willing to turn from the sin(s) in your life. God wants us to repent, that he may be able to enter into our lives.(Acts 17:30)

3)Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, that He was buried and rose again from the dead to pay the price for your sins. (Romans 10:9-10)

4)Pray and invite Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Saviour.(Romans 10:13)

Say this prayer and it is important to believe in your heart and with all your heart as you say it.

Father, I am a sinner in need of your forgiveness. I ask you to forgive me of all my sins in Jesus name. I repent and turn from sinning and doing wrong, right now. I believe that Jesus died and rose again for my sin and I accept His payment. Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart, right now, and be my Lord and Saviour.Fill me with the Holy Spirit. I thank you Lord for hearing my prayer and coming into my heart and saving me according to your word. I love you Lord, and I ask you to seal me in the blood of Jesus and help me to live for you all the days of my life.

In Jesus name Amen.
